5 Questions to Ask Before Buying Lab-Grown Diamond Jewellery
Lab-grown diamond jewellery is popular for good reason: real diamonds, certified, at a far better price. But prices and quality still vary between sellers. Ask these five questions before you buy and you'll know exactly what you're getting.

1. Is the diamond certified?
Every lab-grown diamond worth buying comes with a grading report from a recognised lab such as IGI or GIA. Check that it lists cut, colour, clarity and carat, verify the number online, and make sure it matches the laser inscription on the stone.
2. What are the 4Cs grades?
Lab-grown diamonds come in a range of qualities, just like mined ones. Cut drives sparkle; colour and clarity decide how white and clean the stone looks; carat is size. Ask for the exact grades, not just "good quality". See our guide to the 4Cs.
3. What metal is it, and is it hallmarked?
Ask whether it's 14K or 18K gold or silver, and check for a BIS hallmark on gold. At SIYARI you can choose gold or our silver lab-grown diamond range, a more affordable option that still uses certified diamonds.
4. What are the buyback and exchange terms?
Jewellery is a big purchase, so know what happens if you want to upgrade or sell later. Get the terms in writing. SIYARI offers an 80% buyback guarantee; see our buyback and exchange policy for details.
5. Am I paying a fair price?
Ask for the price split into diamond, metal and making charges. Percentage-based making charges can quietly add a lot, and showroom brands carry heavy overheads. Buying factory-direct cuts out the middle layers. SIYARI charges flat making charges and sells factory-direct.

The bottom line
A one-carat mined diamond can cost ₹3–4 lakh. A certified lab-grown diamond of similar quality costs a small fraction of that, with the same sparkle. Ask these five questions and you'll get the full benefit of that saving, without surprises.
